For BIDs to succeed in meeting the overall objective of a cleaner, more attractive and safer Dublin City Centre, there must be commitment, enthusiasm and leadership from the business community.
With ever increasing competition the city centre has never previously faced such a significant challenge.
We have come to acknowledge that the city centre is directly affected by the customer's perception of the offering of the city centre and its image. Accessibility difficulties, public disorder perception (unsafe), the trend of globalised shopping and unkempt streets all combine to damage the image of our Capital City and to draw our customers and tenants elsewhere.
We need to take control and ownership of the public thoroughfares and all matters which directly or indirectly affect it.
BIDs will enable the City Centre Businesses to achieve this.
